When the 11-acre site on West Avenue was for secured for a new condominium development, it was time to go to work for a team of seasoned developers, architects and designers. It wasn’t long before George Olsen, principle architect at Olsen Associates, settled on a feature that would truly set this 34-unit building apart.

With a score of other renowned condo, hotel and multi-use buildings in Saratoga Springs already to Olsen Associates’ credit, The West was the perfect place to deliver a truly knockout commodity: A rooftop pool.

The firm was responsible for the new indoor pool addition at the Holiday Inn in downtown Saratoga, and Olsen is well-versed in delivering amenities that ensure residents and guests of their buildings feel they’re in a world-class environment. The pool was not just a cherry on top of this project: It helped set a tone. Tracy said the common areas, exercise room, expansive hallway seating areas and a large lounge are “perfect for casual meetings and dinner parties.”

The pool sits in back of The West’s southeast corner, ensuring excellent sun exposure and privacy. However, the ability for residents to commune around the pool extends to its surrounding deck area and into a lounge suitable for gatherings and leisure time.
