Not all condos are created equal. At The West, an incredible amount of planning and thought has gone into every aspect of this 34-unit luxury condo’s development. That includes the interior design and high-end finishes that will set this new Saratoga Springs residential building apart.

That’s why we reached out to Beverly Tracy, the principal designer for The West whose firm earned the right to execute the style for this new condo development. She is a New York City native who lives and operates her firm out of Beverly Hills, California and Saratoga Springs. Her incredible style and experience made her the undisputed choice.

Award-Winner Brought the ‘Wow Factor’

The recipient of numerous Best Interior Design, Best Kitchen, and Best Master Suite awards for her work in the Saratoga Springs Showcase of Homes and Capital Region Parade of Homes events, Tracy’s work has been featured in several Better Homes and Gardens publications, including one cover story. Beverly is also the Design Editor of Saratoga Living Magazine.

At The West, Tracy and her team continue their quest to create beautiful and livable spaces which are comfortable and bring with them new ideas and concepts in design.

Q. & A. With Designer Beverly Tracy

Q. How did you describe your vision to the Olsen Associates Architects and West Avenue Development?

BT. Our vision to the developers was that no design firm knows Saratoga like we do. Having had the opportunity to design several projects and hundreds of custom homes, we know the area and what the community wants. We believe that a well-designed building, rich with amenities, current in style, and with high-end quality construction and finishes, is a product we are well-aligned with. We shared a vision with the developer and architect from the onset, and they knew quickly, that we would be the best addition to the team.

Q. What did you like about designing this development?

BT. We are thrilled to have been selected as the interior design firm for this project! We love the collaborative design process and have had an incredible time working with Scott Varley at Keller Williams and the builder’s management team. The building is going to bring a new option for living to this growing area in Saratoga Springs. We have been allowed to develop our concept and ideas to bring to Saratoga a great option for condo living.

Q. The Saratoga market is somewhat unique. How does that inform your decisions when you do projects here?

BT: The Saratoga market, my home for 15 years, is unique in many ways. It is a place where people live for a variety of reasons. Some come for the racetrack season and others for work, we have families raising children, professionals making lifestyle decisions to live in a beautiful location, and others who have made this community home and now are ready to downsize to a condo for the next chapter of their lives. The West Ave Condos fit all of these needs.

We know that true to Saratoga style, the modern farmhouse aesthetic combines the clean lines of modern design with the cozy farmhouse feel to create a fresh take on the country living Saratoga inspired style. Modern farmhouse style is known for its warmth and simplicity, characterized by natural textures and materials, and we are providing this in a uniquely modern and upscale way.

Q. Describe the interiors of these condos, and the common spaces. And how did the dimensions and specs of spaces inform your design choices?

BT. The interiors of these condos and common spaces are influenced by the expansive windows, natural light, open floor plans, and luxurious amenities the architect planned for in the design of the building. Along with a modern farmhouse look which falls right in line with the equestrian lifestyle we all know to be “Saratoga” — the “City Sophisticate” style we bring to the project is a combination of transitional and classic finishes and selections equating to a classic, timeless design. The look is clean, with a new tailored and fresh sense of style.
