New owners of luxury condo units at The West have set a trend for this exciting new development at 116 West Avenue. Turns out that real estate brokers and agents are eagerly making The West their new home! So far, at least six of the 34 total units have been purchased by experienced real estate professionals. When it came to everything The West offers, no other Saratoga Springs condo building came close.

Amenities including a one-of-a-kind rooftop swimming pool, location, low HOA fees and market value are all excellent reasons for savvy shoppers to buy at The West. “The building is really very nice and perfectly maintained. Having a pool is such a plus (which most condo buildings in Saratoga do not have). The west side of the city is very quiet but also very walkable to downtown. You can also customize your unit, with a wide variety of choices,’’ Laurie Milano said.

Milano and her husband, Joe DeBerardinis, purchased a penthouse unit and closed in the spring of 2021. She’s a former residential real estate agent who moved into commercial sales with Cushman & Wakefield.

For 32 years, Joe was president and co-owner of River City Abstract in Poughkeepsie and a long-time board member and past president of the Mid Hudson Valley Mortgage Bankers Association. The couple are savvy professionals who live in Savannah, GA now, but wanted a home base in Saratoga Springs, too. “We looked at everything available for over a year. This location is the best value in Saratoga. The fact that it is brand new and the price point is very reasonable for this City, makes it a perfect place to buy,’’ Milano said.

That sentiment was echoed by real estate professionals Eileen Rosen and her husband, Elliott Rosen. She’s an associate broker with Keller Williams and a real estate agent for over 30 years. Elliott is also a broker. The couple had been based in Albany. Then they decided The West in Saratoga was the place for them. “First, we decided on Saratoga because of the vibrancy and culture available year round. We also considered walkability; The West is a gentle 15 minute walk into downtown. We knew we wanted low maintenance living but didn’t want to give up anything,’’ Eileen Rosen said.

The couple purchased a 2-bedroom corner unit and moved in this past spring. They are very happy with their decision and encourage others to look at the building’s many merits. “We zeroed in on The West because it checked all of the boxes: Low maintenance, elevator, a big, private deck in our condo, the exercise room, indoor parking and the pool is really just the icing on the cake.’’

Amenities including a one-of-a-kind rooftop swimming pool, location, low HOA feels and market value are all excellent reasons for savvy shoppers to buy at The West. All units contain two bedrooms and two full bathrooms, including a master suite. Units all include central air, laundry room, high-end finishes, custom cabinetry, stone counters with breakfast bar, stainless appliances, private decks and plenty of natural light make for a slick but comfortable lifestyle at The West.

The moral of this story about the first wave of buyers at The West? This Saratoga Springs condo development is the right place to call home for some of the area’s savviest buyers!
